„Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad within the first 30 national universities in the Webometrics ranking

The Webometrics ranking published by Cybermetrics Lab, a research group under the Spanish National Research Council, places Arad`s public university on the 30^th place amongst over 100 national institutions included in the evaluation.

„It is a ranking based on the universities’ research and academic visibility. The fact that our university ranks 30^th amongst the 102 national universities included in the top, confirms the evolution of AVU`s scientific research activity. We are content with the position attained; yet, this also pushes for a continuous investment and support provided for research activities. I would like to congratulate my colleagues for this achievement and I am convinced that we`ll be able to secure a better still positioning during the future editions of the ranking” commented AVU Rector, Ramona Lile.

Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) published its top of universities ranking, summer edition 2022, taking into consideration over 31000 universities across the world.

The most important indicator taken into account is visibility, i.e. the total number of foreign links received by the university`s web domain. The second indicator (40%) is excellence, i.e., the quality of scientific articles published in international journals ranked within the 10% most quoted in a particular field that also have a high impact factor. The third indicator (10%) is transparency, which translates into the total number of article quotations.
