Smart Money & Start-Up
10/30/2025The “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, through the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Student Entrepreneurial Society (SAS), organized on October 29, 2025, the workshop “Financial and Business Education Workshop – Smart Money & Start-Up”, a project funded by the Arad Municipal Cultural Center.
This project was dedicated to developing financial and entrepreneurial skills, carried out in two thematic sections: “The Student Budget Challenge”, focused on efficiently managing personal financial resources, and “The Start-Up Challenge: Survive Your First Year!”, dedicated to entrepreneurial spirit and business strategies. For each of these sections, participants had the opportunity to interact with two distinguished guests who brought practical and inspiring perspectives on the topics addressed. Alina Suciu, Investment Expert for the Western Region at BRD Groupe Société Générale, provided students with practical advice on managing personal budgets and building healthy financial habits. Brigitta Saszet, Manager at Discover Tourism and Cruise, shared her personal entrepreneurial experience and presented the challenges and rewards of the business world.
Students accepted the challenge of managing their personal budgets wisely and thinking like entrepreneurs. To stimulate critical thinking, teamwork, and the practical application of the concepts discussed, each section included interactive challenges with gamification elements, designed to transform the learning process into a dynamic and engaging experience.
“Through this project, together with the Student Entrepreneurial Society at ‘Aurel Vlaicu’ University of Arad, we were able to offer students not just information, but above all the confidence that they can make informed financial choices and build their own path in the business world. We believe that financial and entrepreneurial education are essential skills for young people who aspire to become responsible and innovative professionals, capable of managing their resources and ideas wisely. The greatest gain of this workshop was the students’ enthusiasm. The way they responded to the interactive challenges and collaborated in teams confirms that young people have extraordinary potential, and all they need is the right context to harness it. This is exactly the role of such an event,” said the project coordinator, Associate Professor Dr. Corina Rusu.
