The Constantin Noica National Symposium

Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, through the Association for the Management of Research, Innovation and Development Activities (AMACID), in partnership with the Romanian Academy, through the “Constantin Rădulescu-Motru” Institute of Philosophy and Psychology, is organizing the “Constantin Noica” Symposium, an event supported by the Arad County Council through the Arad County Cultural Center.

Now at its 17th edition, the event celebrates the life and work of the great Romanian philosopher Constantin Noica, creating the framework for cultural dialogue at the highest level. This year’s edition focuses on the theme: “Maladies of the Contemporary Spirit” and brings together prominent figures from the academic and cultural world.

The symposium will open on September 26, at 10:00 AM, in the new building of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of UAV, under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Sinaci.

Invited guests include leading personalities of the Romanian academic community, among them:

  • Acad. Mircea Dumitru, Vice President of the Romanian Academy, President of the Section of Philosophy, Theology, Psychology, and Pedagogy

  • Prof. Dr. Ștefan-Dominic Georgescu, Research Professor at the Institute of Philosophy of the Romanian Academy

  • Prof. Dr. Bălan Sergiu, Research Professor at the Institute of Philosophy of the Romanian Academy

The event will take place between September 25–28, 2025, as part of the series of academic events dedicated to Constantin Noica, coordinated by the Romanian Academy. In this way, Arad, through Aurel Vlaicu University and the Arad County Council, contributes to the national cultural dialogue aimed at highlighting the legacy of Romanian cultural and philosophical figures.
