More than 3,500 teachers involved in “Educational Transformation.”

Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, in partnership with the “Regional Center for Employment and Social Protection” Association, organized the closing conference of the project funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) entitled “Educational Transformation: Integrating Digital Competencies in Multidisciplinary Teaching”, implemented between August 1, 2024 – March 31, 2026 in the counties of Arad and Hunedoara.

The project aimed to develop the digital competencies of teachers in pre-university education by organizing a continuous professional training program in the field of digital pedagogy. Through this initiative, teachers were supported in using digital technologies in their teaching activities and in adopting modern methods of teaching, learning, and assessment.

“Through this project, Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad has strengthened its role as an active partner of the pre-university education system, supporting the development of teachers’ digital competencies and the adaptation of the educational process to the requirements of the digital society.

The results obtained demonstrate the importance of collaboration between universities and pre-university schools in the process of modernizing education. We are pleased that, through the activities carried out, we have contributed to the training of teachers and to the development of educational resources that can be used in teaching activities, for the benefit of students and the entire educational community,” stated the Rector of UAV, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teodor Florin Cilan.

At the regional level, the project involved 184 educational institutions and was implemented with the support of a team consisting of 165 experts, 53 trainers, and 47 mentors.

One of the most important outcomes of the project is the training of 3,525 teachers in the field of digital pedagogy, exceeding the initial target by 246 participants. In addition, open educational resources were developed and published within the project, which can be used by teachers as examples of good practices in teaching activities.

Through its activities, the project contributed to the modernization of the educational process and to the development of teachers’ digital competencies, facilitating the use of modern technologies in education and reducing the gap between urban and rural environments in terms of access to digital educational resources.

The total value of the project is €2,983,979, the funding being provided through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
