Connecting students to the future
4/27/2026The Faculty of Food Engineering, Tourism and Environmental Protection within “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad is organizing, on April 28, 2026, the event “Connecting to the Future: Students in Dialogue with the Economic Environment.”
The event will take place in Arad, Complex M, 2 Elena Drăgoi Street, Room 134, and aims to create an active space for dialogue between students, teaching staff, researchers, and representatives of the economic environment, public institutions, and civil society.
“We consider it essential for our students to interact directly with representatives of the economic and institutional environment, to understand the real challenges of the fields they are preparing for, and to develop their competencies in an applied context. Such initiatives contribute to the training of graduates who are adaptable, engaged, and prepared to respond to the dynamics of the labour market,” stated the Rector of UAV, Dr. Habil. Ramona Lile.
The workshop highlights current topics in areas such as environmental protection, food and nutrition, public food services, agritourism, and agribusiness, emphasizing best practice examples, challenges of the legislative context, and opportunities for professional development.
The activities are structured into three main directions:
• Current and future challenges in environmental protection – coordinator: Assoc. Prof. PhD Eng. Gabriela Onofrei
• Food and nutrition: past, present and future – coordinator: Assoc. Prof. Dr. habil. Anca Dicu
• Young entrepreneurs in food services, agritourism and agribusiness – coordinator: Prof. Dr. habil. Eugenia Țigan
The event is open to all those interested — students, teaching staff, and researchers — who wish to contribute to strengthening the links between the academic and economic environments, explore new collaboration opportunities, and actively engage in the development of the university community.
