12/17/2024

A joyful evening was shared by the people of Arad who attended the traditional Christmas carol concert organized by the “Ilarion V. Felea” Orthodox Faculty of Theology, part of “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad. Now in its 33rd edition, this cherished tradition is a yearly gift offered by the theology choirs to those who gather in the Arad Philharmonic Hall to celebrate the Nativity of Christ.

This year’s concert held special significance as it was dedicated to His Eminence Archbishop Timotei of Arad, marking 40 years of episcopal service in the historic diocese of Arad. The concert featured the “Atanasie Lipovan” Male Choir of the Faculty of Theology, composed of undergraduate and master’s students, as well as the PROCORD-Alumni male choir, made up of graduates from the same institution. Both ensembles were conducted by Fr. Lect. Univ. Dr. Tiberiu Ardelean.

The event was presented by Fr. Prof. Univ. Dr. Cristinel Ioja, Dean of the Faculty of Theology. During the evening, the audience was also introduced to the newly released volume of theological studies titled “Patristics and Paternity”, edited, coordinated, and curated by Prof. Univ. Dr. Cristinel Ioja and Hieromonk Lect. Univ. Dr. Nicolae M. Tang, Chair of Patrology at the faculty.

At the conclusion of the concert, His Eminence Archbishop Timotei offered a blessing, congratulating all who contributed to organizing the event and extending heartfelt holiday wishes to everyone in attendance.
