The History of Dogmatics in Orthodox Theology Is Launched in Arad

A unique research project in Romanian theology, authored by Prof. Cristinel Ioja, PhD, Dean of the “Ilarion V. Felea” Faculty of Orthodox Theology at “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, will make history through the launch of its three volumes in Arad.

The event will take place on Tuesday, December 16, at 5:00 PM, in the presence of the hierarchs of Arad, in the “King Ferdinand” Hall of the Arad City Hall.

Under the title A History of Dogmatics in Romanian Orthodox Theology, Prof. Cristinel Ioja offers an analytical and synthetic retrospective of the development of Dogmatic Theology in Romanian Orthodoxy, from its origins to the present day.

The research is structured into three volumes, totaling 1,900 pages:

  • Volume I – The Dogmatic Tradition in Early and Medieval Romanian Theology;

  • Volume II – From the Beginnings of Romanian-Language Theological Seminary Education to the Establishment of Communism;

  • Volume III – From the Establishment of Communism to the Challenges of Postmodernity.

The work will be presented to the Arad public by Rev. Prof. Ștefan Buchiu, PhD (University of Bucharest) and Rev. Prof. Sorin Șelaru, PhD (University of Bucharest). The event will open with a Christmas carol recital performed by the Procord Choir of the Historic Cathedral of Arad and will be moderated by Rev. Prof. Ioan Tulcan, PhD.
