The “Storytelling in Education” Conference at “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad
10/16/2025The third edition of the “Storytelling in Education” conference is taking place between October 16–17 at “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, bringing together teachers, students, and specialists interested in the role of stories in the learning process.
The event is organized by the AtelieR de Cuvinte Association, founded by Ioana Popescu, and the EduStory Storytelling Company, in partnership with UAV, through the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Psychology and Social Work.
Interest in the conference has been remarkable: over 8,000 participants registered (both in-person and online), most of them students and teachers from pre-university education.
“We are delighted to be partners in this event organized by the AtelieR de Cuvinte Association and the EduStory Storytelling Company — an event mainly dedicated to pre-university teachers and to the students enrolled in the study programs of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Psychology and Social Work at UAV, offering them the opportunity to learn innovative teaching techniques.
We thank the County Cultural Center for their support and all those involved in the organization process,”
said Prof. Ovidiu Toderici, PhD, UAV Vice-Rector.
The plenary sessions brought before participants university professors from major academic centers in the country — Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Pitești — as well as specialists in pedagogy, who explored the role of stories in the emotional and social development of students, and the ways in which storytelling can be integrated into teaching activities.
Alongside Arad storyteller Giorgiana Elena Popan, workshops were led by Oana Moșoiu from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Bucharest, as well as international storytellers Dijana Zorić (Croatia) and Maria Jungans (Denmark).
The conference continues on Friday, October 17, starting at 2:00 PM, in the festive hall of UAV’s M Building Complex.
The event is held with the support of the Arad County Council, through the Arad County Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Arad County School Inspectorate, the University of Bucharest, the Arad Teachers’ Resource Center, CJRAE Arad, the “A.D. Xenopol” County Library, and the Arad County Museum Complex.
