The 2025 Student Designers Meeting – Student Visions and Perspectives in Design

The “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad will host, from November 21 to 23, 2025, the second edition of the project “Student Designers Meeting: Student Visions and Perspectives in Design”, an extracurricular activity funded by the Ministry of Education and dedicated to fostering open dialogue among design students.

Launched in 2024, the project aims to become a tradition where student representatives can share their perspectives on professional training, emerging trends in design, and the evolution of the field in response to technological and social changes. The event promotes direct and authentic communication, providing a friendly space for exchanging ideas, challenges, and student viewpoints.

This year’s edition will bring together representatives from the Faculty of Design at UAV, the Faculty of Arts and Design at UVT, the Faculty of Arts in Oradea, as well as the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. The central theme – “The Design of the Future or the Future of Design?” – encourages reflection on the emergence of new branches such as service design and design thinking, the redefinition of the designer’s role, and the ways in which technology is transforming creative processes and the profession as a whole.

Activities this year include a panel discussion with industry specialists, a student-focused workshop, thematic guided tours around the city of Arad, musical performances, and cultural activities organized for participants by the “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Faculty of Design, and their partners: Jacques Faix Association, UAP Arad Branch, and Semico Gourmet Pastry.

Through collaboration, reflection, and dialogue, the Student Designers Meeting continues its mission of creating a valuable space for idea exchange and strengthening an open, innovative academic community.
