Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The manuscript has been uploaded through the AJPA online submission platform (or sent via email, if applicable), along with all required supplementary files.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses Times New Roman, 11-point font; is justified; includes continuous line numbering; uses italics instead of underlining (except for URLs); and follows A4 format with 2.5 cm margins.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • Ethical approval information is included where applicable, and all required documents (Authorship Statement and Conflict of Interest Declaration) have been provided.

Instructions for authors who want to publish articles in

ARENA  Journal of Physical Activities

Manuscripts submitted for publication should be clearly identidied as Original articles:

aricles reporting the previously unpublished results of completed scientific experiments conducted by the authors, confirming or refuting a clearly defined research hypothesis.

Manuscript procedure time

Manuscripts. All manuscripts must be written in English, typed single-spaced in Times New Roman, size 12 font with wide margins and include an abstract of no more than 250 words.

Style. The manuscripts should be written in first person using the active voice.

Formats of numbers and all other style matters should follow the APA Publication Manual - sixthedition (http://www.apastyle.org/).

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically, on line, or via email to: arena@uav.ro  or to the contact persons .    

Content

The Title of the Article (should accurately reflect the content of the manuscript);

The Full Names of the Authors and Institutional Affiliations (without academic titles);

Parts and Order of the Manuscript

The articles should include the following elements, in order:

Abstract: must be limited to 250 words and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. Include the following headings: Purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusions. A list of 3-5 key words, not repeating wording used in the title, should follow the abstract.

Introduction: should give the scientific rationale for researching the given topic, the primary issues and controversies, the aim of the study. Only pertinent references should be cited.

Methods: The Methods section should be limited to material available at the time of the study design and should contain essential information regarding how the experiment or research was conducted. The protocol of data acquisition, procedures, investigated parameters, methods of measurements and apparatus should described in sufficient detail to  allow other scientists to reproduce the results. The study subjects/participants should be described in terms of number, age and sex. All investigations with human subjects should conform to the Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki)

The statistical methods should be described in detail to enable verification of the reported results.

Results: The results should be presented in a logical sequence, given the most important findings first and addressing the stated objectives. The number of tables and figures should be limited to those absolutely needed to confirm or refute the thesis.

Discussion: The authors should deal only with new or important aspects of the results obtained. Material from the Results section should not be repeated, nor new material introduced. The relevance of the findings in the context of existing literature or contemporary practice should be addressed.

Conclusions: Only conclusions supported by the study findings should be included.

Acknowledgments: list all those who have contributed to  the research; financial and other material support should be disclosed and acknowledged.

References: Each citation in the text must be designated by a superscripted numeral and full information must appear in the list of references. The references list should follow the APA Publication Manual - sixthedition.

Figures and tables: Each figure and table should have a caption that is self-explanatory and defines all abbreviations. They should not be in color. Photographic images can be submitted if they are saved in JPEG format at a resolution of 300 dpi.

The ARENA Journal of Physical Activities (AJPA) publishes all articles under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. By submitting a manuscript to AJPA, authors agree that, upon acceptance, their work will be distributed under this license.

This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction of the published material in any medium, including for commercial purposes, provided that the original authors and source are properly acknowledged. This policy supports wide dissemination and accessibility of scientific knowledge.

Authors may include third-party materials (e.g., images, tables, figures, multimedia content) in their manuscripts only if they have obtained explicit written permission from the copyright holder. In such cases, authors must provide proof that permission has been granted and that the material may be distributed under the CC BY license. If this documentation cannot be provided, authors will be required to remove or replace the material prior to publication.

Authors may reuse content from their own previously published work only if they retain the necessary rights or if the original publication allows such reuse. Since copyright policies differ between publishers, authors are responsible for verifying reuse permissions and ensuring proper citation of all reused materials. AJPA strongly recommends avoiding the inclusion of any content for which legal reuse rights are unclear.

Plagiarism, in any form, is considered a serious violation of academic integrity. Manuscripts containing plagiarized material will be rejected immediately. In cases where plagiarism is identified after publication, the article may be formally retracted or clearly marked as such. Authors found responsible for plagiarism may be restricted from submitting to AJPA for a defined period, and relevant institutions may be notified.

AJPA publishes only studies that comply with ethical standards, including approval by an appropriate institutional ethics committee when research involves human or animal subjects. Failure to provide such information may result in rejection of the manuscript.

To complete the submission process, authors must provide all required documentation, including a signed Authorship Statement and a Conflict of Interest Declaration. These documents must be completed by all authors and submitted together with the manuscript.
