Admission information for EU citizens

 

Citizens of EU Member States, Member of the European Economic Area and of the Swiss Confederation may apply for admission to all cycles study programmes under the same conditions as the Romanian citizens, after the recognition of their studies undertaken in their home country.

 

The Recognition of Studies is made by the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED), within the Ministry of National Education (MEN).

 

The procedure for the validation of the degrees can be done only with the help of the Office for International Relations at “Aurel Vlaicu” University from Arad. The documents to be validated by the C.N.R.E.D. shall be sent to the Office for International Relations, who will submit the file to the C.N.R.E.D. After receiving the Certificate for the Recognition of Studies, will the candidates be able to enrol at the faculty of choice, during the admission sessions.

 

 

List of documents for the recognition of studies

for admission to post secondary school or undergraduate

 

 

1. Application form;

2. Proof of completion of secondary school (high school diploma/certificate):

  • copy, if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian language
  • copy and certified translation (in original) in Romanian language for the documents issued in other languages

3. Proof of completion for the last 2 years of high school completed abroad, with subjects and marks/points obtained:

  • copy, if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian language
  • copy and certified translation (in original) in Romanian language for the documents issued in other languages

4. Identification paper - copy

  • passport / identity card
  • proof of legal name change,  if applicable, copy for documents in Romanian language / English / French / Spanish / Italian, and certified translation in Romanian for other languages

6. Proof of payment for evaluation fee - 50 de lei - copy.

The fee can be paid in lei at the CNRED Cashier’s Office (Monday to Thursday, between 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00) or by Payment Order / Postage Mandate / Banking transfer indicating the account below:

for admission in a Romanian higher institution at the master/doctorate level

 

 

1. Application form;

2. Personal identification document - copy and proof of legal change of name (if it is applicable);

3. Study document to be recognized

  • copy, if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian language
  • copy and certified translation (in original) in Romanian language for the documents issued in other languages

4. Academic transcripts- in the case of regulated professions and in the situation of the recognition of specialization or when the field of study is not clearly mentioned in the diploma

  • copy, if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian language
  • copy and certified translation (in original) in Romanian language for the documents issued in other languages

5. Evaluation fee of 50 lei

Period for submission of files at AVU for validation of studies:

-February – 15th of June (for admission at Bachelor or Master study programmes);
-February - with 30 days before the beginning of the study programme (for admission at a PhD study programme or at a postgraduate programme of continuous professional development)

The deadline for eventual submissions of potential additional documents to the already existing file is of maximum one year from the initial moment of its submission (it is advisable to submit the documents one month earlier). In case the additional documents are not submitted within this period of time, the original fie will not be taken into consideration anymore and a new file will have to be submitted according to the existing legislation.

 

 

 

The Romanian Language Preparatory Year for EU citizens

 

Citizens from member states of the European Union, European Economic Area and Swiss Confederation, have the right to apply to studies in Romania, in the same financial circumstances as Romanian citizens.


For an E.U. citizen wishing to pursue the Romanian Language Preparatory Year, the necessary documents will be submitted at the Office for International Relations between 1st of April – 15th of September.

 

1.      study documents – legally certified copies and translations in either Romanian, English, French of the High School Diploma (and of Bachelor Diploma if the candidate applies for Master studies); The Master Diploma as well for candidates who want to follow a PhD study programme);

2.      copy of the certificate attesting the promotion of the High school/Bachelor/Master examinations for graduates of the current academic year which do not possess the original Diploma for the time being (if the case);

3.      transcript of grades –legally certified copies and translations in either Romanian, English, French – for the completed studies (High School and Bachelor) and the analytical curriculum in case of candidates that request equivalence for certain periods of studies;

4.      Birth certificate – copy and legally certified translation;

5.      Copy of the passport – valid at least 6 months after the date when the Letter of Acceptance to studies is issued;

6.      Medical certificate (in a widespread international language) to prove that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from infectious incompatible with the future profession;

7.      Copy of the document attesting the residency abroad (if the case);

8.       Complete contact data: postal address, e-mail address, phone number.

 

Once the file has been verified, the candidate will be guided to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for the enrollment process. This involves the signing of the contract of study with the university and the submission of the following documents:

- original documents of study and certified translations in Romanian,

- copy of the passport;

- copy and certified translations in Romanian of the birth certificate,

- medical certificate (in Romanian or English) to prove that you do not suffer from infectious incompatible with the future profession;

- 2 photos, 3 x 4 format;

- proof of payment of the tuition fee.

 

All these documents will constitute your personal file as a student of AVU. At the end of the study programme, you will be able to recover all the original documents submitted at enrollment.
